The fly buzzing around your head is lonely. Lonely, lonely, lonely. No one can love someone like him. He’s helpless, flying around hoping to find someone that will one day take him into their home and let him cuddle under the covers. Trying to find comfort, even love, he lands on the hands of the people he meets on a daily basis. But to his astoundement, the homo sapiens are uncomfortable with a little fly landing on their cold skin. The little fly, who has always loved everything he’s landed upon is amazed at how obnoxious these creatures are. They’re loud, always rushing around and causing disarray in their presence. The fly feels bad for these poor souls and wants to help them out. But how? How can this invisible, small fly connect with billions of humans? This little fly wanted to change the world. He came up with a plan to unite the world of flies and humans: attempting to speak to the owner of the house he resided in.
The little fly landed on the counter while the owner of the home read her newspaper and sat her coffee up down. This was one of the few humans that he thought would be excited to hear the idea of the rights of flies. She never rushed and he had never seen her kill another bug. He tried to get her gaze to fix on him by buzzing around her head. She swatted him away, making the fly feel hurt. He perched upon the edge of her coffee mug, waiting for her to finish the article she was enthralled in. Seeing this little fly sitting on the edge of her coffee mug, the woman groaned, standing up and getting what seemed to be a fly-swatter. His worst enemy. Panic flooded all his thoughts, his dreams. He thought of his family. His newly born children, his wife, his pets. He couldn’t leave them behind with nothing, no money, no love, not even a proper goodbye. But, the thoughts of the fly distracted him from his fate, the dreams of equality between flies and humans spread across the kitchen table.
*sorry for posting twice in one day! I just had this idea in mind and thought it turned out better than expected!
